Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SigChain website, forms, documentation, applications, and related services we make available (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

SigChain is operated by the SigChain team ("we," "us," or "our").

1. The Service

We may modify, update, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. Some features may be experimental, limited, invitation-based, or available only during particular periods, and features may change, break, disappear, or be reset over time.

Access to all or part of the Service may be provided at our sole discretion. Receiving a waitlist response, invite, access code, or similar communication does not create any obligation to provide or continue access.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if you are at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement, or if you are using the Service on behalf of an organization and have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Fees

The Service is currently offered without charge unless we clearly state otherwise in writing. We may introduce paid plans, usage limits, or commercial terms later.

4. Access, Suspension, and Revocation

Access credentials, invite codes, and similar access mechanisms are personal, non-transferable, may expire, and may be disabled or replaced at any time.

We may approve, deny, suspend, revoke, or limit access at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. We may also invalidate access credentials or codes, rotate sessions, remove submitted materials, or reset Service data where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or improve the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or infringing purposes
  • Interfere with the Service, its infrastructure, or other users
  • Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, rate limits, or security measures
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, models, prompts, or internal logic except where prohibited by law
  • Benchmark, publish performance testing, scrape, crawl, or use bots or automation against the Service without our written permission
  • Share invite codes, resell access, or let unauthorized third parties use your access
  • Use the Service where a failure, inaccuracy, or interruption could reasonably be expected to cause material harm without appropriate independent review, backup processes, or human oversight
  • Rely on the Service as a substitute for independent technical, professional, compliance, legal, financial, medical, safety, or other expert review where such review is reasonably required

6. Restricted Data Compliance

Users may not upload, store, transmit, or process any information subject to government handling or export restrictions, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), classified information, or export-controlled technical data regulated under ITAR or other applicable laws.

The Service is not designed to meet the requirements of NIST SP 800-171 or any similar regulatory or contractual data protection framework.

You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Service complies with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe such data has been submitted.

7. Your Content and Outputs

You retain ownership of the materials you submit to the Service, including prompts, messages, files, uploaded materials, configurations, designs, and similar inputs, as well as generated outputs to the extent permitted by applicable law.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, modify, and otherwise process your inputs and outputs as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, debug, support, analyze, and improve the Service and related features.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that your use of the Service and submitted materials will not violate any law or third-party rights.

8. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, bug reports, comments, evaluation notes, or other feedback, you agree that we may use that feedback for any purpose without restriction, notice, approval, or compensation to you.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may include or depend on third-party services, including service providers for forms, video, fonts, hosting, infrastructure, communications, or AI-powered features. Third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their independent acts or omissions.

10. Privacy

Our collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we may process personal information as described there.

11. No Engineering Advice

The Service may generate information, recommendations, analyses, summaries, calculations, or other outputs. All outputs are provided for informational purposes only. They may be incomplete, approximate, stale, or wrong.

You are responsible for evaluating and independently verifying outputs before relying on them in any material context. The Service is not a substitute for qualified professional judgment or review.

12. Disclaimers

The Service may be offered in alpha, beta, preview, experimental, or other pre-release form and may contain bugs, errors, interruptions, incomplete functionality, inaccurate outputs, or data loss.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be preserved without loss.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, revenue, profits, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. If the Service was provided to you for free, our total liability will not exceed US $0.00.

14. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, contractors, and representatives from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted, unless we state otherwise. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to those courts' jurisdiction.
